From High Camp Lyngen to Haglöfs' 100 years anniversary

High Camp Lyngen and Haglöfs' 100 years Party

I have recently had the pleasure of joining two memorable events. For the second year at High camp Lyngen, I was guiding enthousiastic skiers coming to enjoy Lyngen skiing at its best. Last weekend, Haglöfs celebrated 100 years of existence. Of course it was meant to be a spectacular event, and yes, it was a fantastic celebration!

Haglöfs is not only producing outstanding outdoor equipment, but is also participating in several sports events and happenings throughout the year. The very popular ski events High Camp Lyngen, High Camp Turtagrø and High Camp Hemsedal are a few of these winter activities where you can meet people from our team and enjoy great skiing together.

In the summer, Åre extreme challenge and BAMM, (Björkliden Arctic Mountain Marathon) are other events where you can pick up the pulse together with Haglöfs team members, designers and sporty staff.

High Camp morning, it's time to go skiing in Lyngen!

High Camp Lyngen
3 weeks ago, I had once again the enjoyment of working as one of the guides at High camp Lyngen. With a great competent team of guides from the region and UIAGM mountain guides, we could show the participants some of the best ski touring- and free ski pearls on the Lyngen penisula.

People from all over Norway had travelled up to Lyngen and this year, the camp hosted around 150 participants and guides.

Ferry to the skiing

During 3 days,  Lyngen showed us her great variety of views, weather and inspiring terrain for a skier. This year, it was a new record in participants and I heard that Fri Flyt Magazine, who hosts the event, sold out the tickets only in 15 minutes this autumn. No joking, the expectations were high!

We are summiting Gillavarre in perfect conditions, now it's time to ski down 1000 m to the sea

The first day, I had the pleasure of skiing together with an old collegue of mine from back in 2006 when I was working at Ultrasport/Klatring/UTE-magazines. Britt-Louise Larsson and her friends joined me on mountain Gillavarre. We had to take the ferry over the fjord to access Gillavarre and it is always a funny feeling to embark the ferry with skiboots and the skis on your shoulder.

- Oh my godness, it's so hot that my "Kexchoklad" (chocolate) is melting!
Britt's sudden statement when we stopped for a break on the way up, pretty much describes the weather that first day. It was hot and sunny. What a fantastic spring day!

Skiing

Telemark skiing too!

For the second year in a row, I got to ski with the singing guys from the south. Last year they joined for 2 memorable days of skiing during High camp Lyngen. Not only are they very good skiers, but they also know how to keep up the pace all night long.

I was wondering how the boys would handle the quite strenous ski tour the second day of the camp, when we headed up to Daltinden, 1533 m. Daltinden is the highest mountain with the longest approach we offer during the camp.

The boys are skinning up nicely, Daltinden is our objective of the day

Daltinden, with its 1533m it is one of the higher summits in Lyngen
Good spirits
It turned out that I had no reason to worry. As usual, the spirit was at the best we got a really nice day out. My friend and fellow Haglöfs team member Jørgen Aamot was also guiding Daltinden that day and it was nice to see that so many guides from all over Norway come to work at High Camp Lyngen.

Sudden change of weather gave white out on the way down. Fredrik Raum handles it.

Nice to chill

I'm always having a cinnamon roll and some tea with me

Haglöfs 100 years anniversery

In 1914, Haglöfs was founded by the innovative and productive Wiktor Haglöf who started up his business by making back packs in Torsång, Dalarna in Sweden. Ever since then, the brand has evolved and is now one of the world leading outdoor brands with customers all over the globe.
This year it was up for the greatest Birthday party in the Haglöfs history!

Logos have developed through out the years

The start!

Last weekend I went to Sweden to join the celebration of Haglöfs 100 years anniversary. What a spectacular event and what a great party!

350 participants from all over the world including customers, sales departments, staff, team members, journalists, designers etc had gathered to be apart of this special happening. The now 80 year old son of the Haglöfs founder, Hans Haglöf, and his family were of course also there. For them, it surely must be a special feeling to see how far their company has come.

On Saturday the 10th of May, at Högbo Bruk in Sandviken north of Stockholm, we had a full day of activities and entertainment that ended with a beautiful evening dinner and the BIG PARTY.

Hans Haglöf, the son of the founder Wiktor Haglöfs, is cutting the band into a new exciting decade for Haglöfs

A fashion show with professional dancers, showing a selection from the upcoming collection

There were activities and product presentations during the day. Sofia, Anna and Anna showing us the mountain collection.
Dinner time. Thomas Hallén, Claes Grundsten, Carl Hård af Segerstad, Josefina Wikberg, Hans Johansson, Ulrika Asp and Björn Rydvall at my table. Thank you all for a nice evening!
My skiing friend Stephanie Churlet and myself.

It was a nice to see everyone dressed up so beautiful and I was amazed by the immediate power on the dancefloor as soon as the dinner was over. It was a live band playing and the temperature on the dancefloor was hot from the very first minute. Everyone seemed to go all in and it was so fun!

It's not a rock concert, it's Haglöfs 100 years party and the temperature is high!

WOW!
Thank you Haglöfs for this event, it was great and I am so proud to be apart of the Haglöfs team!
As a sports woman, is such a nice feeling to be able to contribute in the Haglöfs product development and to use the clothes and products knowing that my opinion and ideas are listened to, and that they are important.

Haglöfs is nowadays owned by Asics and the brand continues to grow and expand into new markets around the world. However, the roots are not forgotten and high quality, functionality and a constant interest in making outstanding outdoor equipment is always on the agenda. Maybe for another 100 years more...maybe even longer!

Congratulations Haglöfs for 100 years of making the products I need on the mountain!

Time for B-day cake!
